- Telephone / CommunicationIn the interest of good patient care we ask that you make an appointment to discuss your health or that of a family member. However should patients have an urgent need to make contact with a Doctor, KRMC have trained staff to access the situation, contact the Doctor for further assessment, Doctor to respond accordingly.
Repeat prescriptions, repeat referrals and test results all require a consultation with your Doctor.
SMS reminders may be used. Please advise if you do not wish to have SMS reminders.
Please observe and respect mobile phone etiquette. - Patients with special needsProvision is made for patients requiring translating services or have special needs relating to communication. A secure playroom is available for use by children under the care and supervision of their care person. Our special needs toilet facility provides a nappy change table.
If required a wheelchair is available for use whilst attending the Medical Centre.
- Patient feedback / suggestions / complaintsWe are happy to receive all feedback or discuss any concerns you may have regarding the service provided at our Medical Centre. Please feel free to contact our Practice Manager or treating doctor to discuss. If you are not satisfied or your complaint cannot be resolved within the Practice, you may wish to contact the:

KRMC patients have the right to access their personal health information under the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) March 2014. Our Privacy Policy available at reception. KRMC Health Information Policy regarding electronic communication eg. SMS, Email, secure messaging service is guided by current Australian Government APP. Specifically KRMC is compliant with current eHealth Policy.
- After hours serviceOur ALL HOURS number 8431 5506 is directed to National Home Doctor Service for emergency home visits, outside of our opening hours.

You can also attend the emergency department at your nearest hospital.
- Car parkingWe provide extensive car parking at the rear of the Medical Centre. Adjacent to the Alfred Street entrance a designated car park is provided for patients with special needs.
We remind patients that the northern side of Kensington Road is a clearway 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.
- Our ServicesAlong with general medicine we provide the following services – Women’s and Men’s Health check-ups, family planning, pap smears, pregnancy tests, vaccinations (childhood and travel), health assessments, GP management plans, Healthy Kids Checks, skin checks, management of diabetes, hypertension and asthma.
- Consultation by appointmentWe offer the convenience of consultation by appointment by phoning the Medical Centre during opening hours. Appointments are normally made for a 10 minute consultation. Longer appointments will be necessary for insurance, employment medicals, driver’s licence medicals, full medical check-ups, medical procedures such as a pap smear. Appointments also available through our website offering Online Booking Service.

when making the booking.
While our doctors endeavour to run on schedule, at times delays are unavoidable, so we request your patience. If you have time restrictions please phone ahead to check on probable waiting time. Should you require an interpreter please inform reception at the time of booking.
We would appreciate your early phone call if you are unable to keep your appointment.
To further assist when visiting our Medical Centre please remember to bring with you:
• Medicare Card
• Health Care Card or Pension Card
• All your medications or list of your medications - FeesOur fees are consistent with other practices providing quality health care with individual doctors having their own set of fees. Kensington Road Medical Centre is a private billing practice – bulk billing is not routine.
We require accounts to be paid in full on the day of consultation. Payments can be made by cash, eftpos, Visa or Mastercard. American Express is not accepted.
Medicare rebates can be deposited into your account within 48 hours if you have registered your bank details with Medicare.
Fees may vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by individual GP’s.
Opiates and benzodiazepines will NOT be prescribed to new patients.
Please note that higher fees are charged on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and Public Holidays.

Scheduled childhood immunisations administered are covered by Medicare rebates.
- Third partyThis includes Workcover, motor vehicle accident, personal injury, insurance medicals etc. Please note that these accounts are the responsibility of the patient and it is up to the patient to obtain reimbursement from the third party. GST is applicable to some third party services.
- Test resultsPatients to take responsibility for their own results and
will be required to make another appointment to discuss the results. Our reception staff will be able to advise if your results have been returned from the laboratory, however they do not have access to the actual results and are unable to discuss them with you. It is our practice policy that only doctors are permitted to release results.
